Why did a nudge come a minute late?
Timeframes doesn’t watch the clock itself. Apple’s Screen Time tells it when you pass each time mark, and Screen Time reports those on its own schedule. A nudge (or a block) can show up a minute or two after the mark. Apple doesn’t give apps a live, second-by-second count, so a little lag is normal.
If nudges don’t come at all, check that notifications for Timeframes are on in Settings › Notifications, and that Timeframes is allowed in any Focus you use. The last 20 minutes are marked time-sensitive, so they should get through.
Why can’t I see app names in some places?
That’s Apple’s privacy design. When you pick apps, Apple gives Timeframes a private token instead of the app’s name or icon. The names and usage numbers you see on the Today and Screen Time tabs are drawn by a protected Apple view the app itself can’t read. In other places, like notifications, Timeframes uses the name you typed under Name in notifications.
Why does it say “Changes start tomorrow”?
Timeframes is built for your weak moments. Anything that makes your limits stricter (less time, a new window, more apps) works right away. Anything that loosens them (more time, moving or removing a window, removing an app) waits until midnight. That way, “just this once” at 11 PM doesn’t undo the plan you made with a clear head. You can also tap Keep today’s rules instead to cancel the change.
How do I cancel Timeframes Pro?
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Timeframes Pro, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. After that, you’re on the free plan: countdown nudges for your first app. Your other apps, time blocks, and checkpoints pause until you come back to Pro. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com, since Apple handles all payments.
What if I want to stop using it?
There’s no off switch for blocking inside Timeframes, on purpose. If you really want out, the way to do it depends on how you set things up:
- If you hold your own Screen Time passcode, you can turn off Timeframes’ access in Settings › Screen Time, or delete the app.
- If someone you trust holds the passcode (a partner, friend, or roommate), which is what setup recommends, ask them. They can enter the passcode to remove your daily App Limit, allow app deletion again, or turn off Timeframes’ Screen Time access. That pause to ask someone is the point: it’s a speed bump for weak moments, not a trap.
If you just want looser limits, change them in the Settings tab. They’ll take effect tomorrow.
How do I reset everything?
Delete the app (touch and hold the Timeframes icon, then Remove App › Delete App). That removes all your settings, time windows, and blocks. Reinstall it from the App Store to start fresh. If Pro is still active, tap Restore Purchases in the app.
If deleting apps is turned off under Settings › Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions, you’ll need the Screen Time passcode to allow it first.
Deleting Timeframes doesn’t touch the App Limits you set in Screen Time, or your Screen Time history.
Does it count my iPad or Mac?
No. Timeframes counts usage on this iPhone only, even if Screen Time shares limits across your devices.
Is my data private?
Yes. Nothing leaves your iPhone. There are no accounts, servers, analytics, or ads. See the Privacy Policy for details.
